JUUL Flavor Popularity: What the Data Says
A 2019 study by Monitoring the Future surveyed U.S. youths about their favorite JUUL flavors. Here’s the breakdown by age group: what flavors were most popular:
| Age Group | 1st Most Popular | 2nd Most Popular | 3rd Most Popular |
|---|---|---|---|
| Older Teens (12th Grade) | Mint (47.1%) | Mango (23.8%) | Fruit (8.6%) |
| Mid-Teens (10th Grade) | Mint (43.5%) | Mango (27.3%) | Fruit (10.8%) |
| Younger Teens (8th Grade) | Mango (33.5%) | Mint (29.2%) | Fruit (16.0%) |
Note: These numbers are based on JUUL users in each group, not all students.
Why Mint and Mango Are Still the Best
- Mint: Older teens love it for being clean, refreshing and smooth without being too sweet.
- Mango: Younger users love it for being juicy, tropical and candy-like.
- Fruit: A consistent third place with a balanced mix of fruity notes that appeal to all ages.
Regulatory Changes Affecting JUUL Flavors
Due to youth vaping concerns, JUUL stopped selling several flavors in the US, including Mango, Fruit, Creme and Cucumber. Now, most markets only allow Tobacco, Menthol and Mint, with some cities restricting Mint flavors. This affects what’s available in stores and online.
Always check local laws before buying.
